HELSINKI: The producer prices for manufactured products sold on the domestic market went down by 2.8 per cent, while the producer prices of export products fell by 4.3 per cent. The fall in the producer prices for manufactured products was particularly caused by reductions in the prices of oil products, manufacturing of basic metals and chemicals and chemical products from June 2015. The fall in producer prices was slowed down especially by higher prices of electricity and paper and paper board products. The export price index fell by 4.3 per cent and the import price index by 5.4 per cent in the year, the data show. The Basic Price Index for Domestic Supply went down by 2.6 per cent. The Basic Price Index for Domestic Supply including taxes fell by 1.9 per cent.

Export prices were in particular depressed by the falling prices of manufacturing of basic metals and oil products from June 2015. The fall in prices was slowed down especially by higher prices of paper and paper board products. The fall in import prices was in turn especially caused by lower prices of oil products and manufacturing of basic metals compared with the previous year’s June. The fall in prices was slowed down, in particular, by higher prices of electricity. Producer prices for manufactured products went up by 0.3 per cent from May to June. The rise was mainly due to increased prices of electricity from the previous month.
