ISLAMABAD: The real estate consultants are protesting today (Thursday) against the property tax, imposed by the federal government with effect from July 1.
Real Estate Consultants Association (RECA) DHA Islamabad General Secretary Ahsan Malik, in a press statement, said that the government is using delaying tactics in talks with real estate consultants on property tax, and now they are observing a shutdown strike and taking protest rally in Islamabad.
Malik said that Advisor of Prime Minister Haroon Akhter had invited the property dealers for a meeting but failed to provide any commitment regarding revision or suspension of the existing unjustified, excessive and unilateral property tax imposed this year.
He said that they would take out a peaceful protest rally from T-Chownk Rawat to the National Press Club, where they would also hold a press conference and announce further plans of action.
