PSP activists stage protest against power generation plants in Muzaffargarh

MUZAFFARGARH: A large number of people have staged a protest against the proposed coal-based and nuclear power plants in Musaffargarh.

The activists of the Peoples Seraiki Party, wearing surgical masks and led by PSP chief Malik Zul Norain Bhutta, rallied against the power plant to be build near Mehmood Kot and a nuclear power plant near Chowk Sarwar Shaheed.

The protesters chanted slogans against the proposal and said that the government had already established the Pak-Arab Refinery and three thermal power stations in Kot Addu, Lalpir and Muzaffargarh, which had polluted the air and water and causing various diseases including cancer in the areas.
