The personal assistant further highlighted that the importers should raise voice when the PSQC officials held non-applicable items and issued clearance certificate against Rs 15,000. She further informed that the DG has directed the officials that misconduct or malpractice will not be tolerated in any way, adding that the traders should cooperate with the department to bring transparency.

It may be mentioned here that Customs Today earlier highlighted the issue that importers are facing hardships in clearance of consignments at Port Qasim, as officials of Pakistan Standard Quality Control (PSQC) are trying to impose their own policies for minting money by holding consignments of items on which PSQC law is not applicable.
