The appointment of Ali Zaidi as Sindh president of the PTI expresses Prime Minister Imran Khan’s trust in him and his ability to re-organise the party at the grass-roots level. In his tweet, Ali Zaidi said he was humbled by the faith Prime Minister Imran Khan had shown in him to lead the party in Sindh. “I seek guidance from Allah, prayers and support from family and friends and will try to live up to the expectations of all, especially PTI workers. Together we will pull Sindh out of deprivation,” he added.

Earlier, Prime Minister Imran Khan had named the new organisational structure for the PTI after dissolving all previous bodies within his party following a defeat in the first phase of local government elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Chaudhry said Planning Minister Asad Umar had been chosen as the secretary general and the following individuals had been named the presidents for various provincial divisions. Minister for Maritime Affairs Ali Zaidi was appointed to lead the party in Sindh, Defence Minister Pervez Khattak will head the party in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, National Assembly Deputy Speaker Qasim Suri would guide the party in Balochistan while Education Minister Shafqat Mahmood would lead the ruling party in Punjab and Minister for Industries and Production Khusro Bakhtiar in South Punjab. Amir Mehmood Kiani, previously the PTI secretary general, was nominated as the additional secretary general by the Prime Minister.
