Public money being spent only on uplift projects: Shahbaz

LAHORE: Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that every single penny of public money is being spent only on the development projects.

Talking to members of National Assembly belonging to various districts, the CM said that the PML-N government is implementing the policy of transparency and billions of rupees have been saved in public welfare projects, which are now being spent on projects of progress and prosperity of the citizens. The chief minister said transparency and supremacy of merit have become the hallmark of Punjab government.

Shahbaz said the government has laid the foundation of a new culture by completing development projects with transparency, quality and speed. He said had this policy of standard, merit and transparency been followed in the implementation of projects during the last 68 years, the situation of the country would have been different.

The chief minister has said that availability of potable water is the basic right of every citizen and keeping in view this fact, the Punjab government is implementing a big programme under which water filtration plants will be set up throughout the province. He said that besides supply of drinking water, improvement of sewerage system, capacity-building of WASA and use of modern technology for waste water treatment is the need of the hour.
