Punjab govt assigns Rs 25b revenue target to Excise, Taxation Department

ISLAMABAD: Government of Punjab has assigned Rs 25 billion target to Excise and Taxation Department for the fiscal year 2015-16.

According to details, the Punjab government has assigned Rs 25 billion revenue target to Excise and Taxation Department in the term of taxes collection including property tax, token tax, vehicles registration tax, excise duty and professional taxes from the province. The decision to assign the target to the department was taken in the directors conference chaired by Secretary Excise and Taxation Punjab Ali Tahir.

The sources added that Secretary Excise praised the performance of the department for the record recovery in the fiscal year 2014-15.

Meanwhile, Director Excise Rawalpindi Division Tanveer Abbas Gondal is preparing the list of property tax inspectors and assigning them targets for the fiscal year 2015-16 to achieve the set target assigned to Excise Rawalpindi division.

It is important to mention here the Excise and Taxation has got 100% recovery in the fiscal year 2014-15 and achieved Rs 20.5 billion against Rs 21 billion.
