LAHORE: The Punjab government on Tuesday launched Khidmat Card programme with Rs 2 billion to provide financial assistance to special persons.
Sources told Customs Today that under the programme, special persons will be provided Rs 3,600 after every three months. In the beginning 200,000 people will benefit from the programme.
Addressing the ceremony in Lahore, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif said that the special persons from the entire province will benefit from this programme.
He said the objective of the scheme is to empower the special persons financially. He said that special persons have equal rights in the country. The chief minister said the programme will be monitored at every level, and it will be implemented transparently.
On the occasion, Shahbaz Sharif also distributed Khidmat Cards among special persons.
