LAHORE: The Punjab government has approved Rs13.56 billion for eight development schemes of different sectors.
The Punjab Provincial Development Working Party approved the amount in its 16th meeting in current fiscal year 2015-16. The meeting was presided over by P&D Board Punjab Chairman Muhammad Jahanzeb Khan. Members of the PDB, Provincial Secretaries concerned and other senior representatives of the relevant provincial departments also attended the meeting.
According to the P&DD Spokesman, the approved development schemes included: Construction of Minor Karkan Kartar Pur Chak 177 to Kartar Pur, Nankana Sahib at the cost of Rs 357.13 million.
Extension of water facilities in extended controlled area recently notified by Punjab government at the cost of Rs250.523 million, provision of sewerage system for UC-117, 118, & 120, Lahore at the cost of Rs7610.873 million, construction of flyover at Katcha Jail Road crossing and improvement of at-grade road network, Lahore at the cost of Rs1052.685 million, replacement of outlived rusty & leaking pipelines and extension of distribution system (new) in leftover areas with allied works in Wasa jurisdiction, Rawalpindi (gastro project phase-II) at the cost of Rs499.794 million, establishment of University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences at Bahawalpur (eevised) at the cost of Rs2943.013 million, Lahore Tourist Bus Service (Revised) at the cost of Rs239.378 million, Construction of Punjab Police Integrated Command, Control & Communication (PPIC3) Centre at Qurban Lines, Lahore at the cost of Rs605.630 million.
