LAHORE: The Punjab government has approved seven development projects worth Rs14.73 million.
The projects were approved during the 23rd meeting of Punjab Development Working Party for fiscal year 2015-16, presided over by P&D Board Chairman Jahanzeb Khan.
According to a spokesman for the P&D, the approved schemes included water supply pipeline extensions proposed on the existing schemes in Bahawalpur district at a cost of Rs713.670m; project preparation for Punjab Irrigated Agriculture Investment Pro-gramme (PIAIP) (PC-II) at a sum of Rs1.01 billion; construction of Papin Dam in Rawalpindi district at a cost of Rs 6.02 billion; widening/improvement of road from Kadhala to Malki via Aach to Ghulam Chowk to Kharana in Kharian tehsil (length 16.27kms), Gujrat, at a cost of Rs295.79m; widening/improvement of Lahore-Jaranwala-Faisalabad-Jhang-Bhakkar-Darya Khan Art-3 Road (from km 271.82 to 379.64, length 107.82kms, Bhakkar) (revised) at a cost of Rs2.11 billion; construction of bridge over river Jhelum at Langarwala Pattan to Sahiwal in Sargodha and Khushab at a sum of Rs2.19 billion; and construction of road and high level bridge between Mianwali district and Jand (Attock district) (revised) at a cost of Rs2.36 billion.
