Punjab govt presents people-friendly budget claims, Dr Ayesha

LAHORE: Provincial Minister for Finance Dr Ayesha Ghaus Pasha has said that the government has presented a people-friendly, balanced and development budget in which increase in the salaries of the government employees and pension has been announced by remaining within the resources.

She said that salaries of the government employees and pension have been increased by 7.5 percent. She said that ad-hoc relief of 2011-12 of the government employees has been merged in basic salary in the budget 2015-16 while 25 percent increase has been made in medical allowance. This increase will also be given to pensioners as well, she added.

She expressed these views in reply to media talk and speech in assembly of opposition leader in Punjab Assembly Mian Mahmoodur Rasheed. Dr. Ayesha Ghaus Pasha said that the government is aware of difficulties of employees of public and private sector therefore, it has increased salaries, pensions and medical allowance according to its resources. She said that government will continue to take all possible steps for mitigating the grievances of government employees as well.
