Punjab govt seeks list of tax defaulters participating in LB polls

RAWALPINDI: The Punjab government has called a list of the property tax defaulters who are going to contest local body elections.

Sources said that the Punjab government has directed the Rawalpindi Excise to send the list of candidates contesting for the seat of chairman and vice chairman, who have not paid property tax.

The sources added that the department was already preparing a list of tax defaulter candidates for collecting the tax through election commission. But now, the provincial government also demanded the list of defaulters.

On the other hand, the candidates those have paid taxes timely, are rushing toward excise in order to get the clearance certificate.
