LAHORE: The Punjab government will pay customs duty on the Chinese contractors’ goods, articles and machinery which would be used in construction of Orange Train project.
According to sources, the Punjab government will pay Rs 500 million as customs duty on all the machinery and other accessories that will be used for building up Orange Train. The sources said that the government has approved to reimburse the customs Rs 500 million customs duty.
The sources said that the customs duty would be reimbursed to the Chinese contractors in accordance with the agreed plan.
It was said that the government of Punjab will also approach to the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) for the exemption of customs duty on the machinery and other equipment’s for the Orange Train.
