Punjab govt to spend Rs 400m on Cholistan development

LAHORE: The Punjab government is going to launch many development schemes in Choolistan to facilitate people of the area while an amount of Rs 400 million would be spent to construct roads and other schemes.

This was stated by Punjab Minister for Cooperative & Chairman Cholistan Development Authority Malik Muhammad Iqbal Channer while addressing a gathering arranged by All Punjab Clerks Association and All Punjab Patwarian Association here on Saturday.

He said that Cholistan was an important region of South Punjab and having three districts of Bahawalpur division, that’s why Punjab government would provide them every possible facility on their door step. He said that works on development schemes would soon be started and would be completed in a record duration.

Channer also thanked to Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif for providing him responsibility for development of Cholistan and he said that he would utilize all his energies for the progress of the region.
