RAWALPINDI: The Punjab government has decided to distribute zakat through easy paisa mode in Rawalpindi district from January, 1, 2015 .
All the zakat recipients will get Rs 3000 each in 166 local zakat committees all over the district through easy paisa.
Ajab Hussain, district zakat committee chairman said that lists of all recipients have been prepared and computerized. Zakat will also be distributed through easy paisa system in districts Jhelum, Attock and Chakwal. This method will save the recipients particularly old aged and sick from the inconvenience of making rounds of banks. However dowry amount will continue to be paid to the recipients, daughters of widows and orphans under old system.
