LAHORE: The lawyers in Punjab boycotted the proceedings of the Customs and Taxation Court on the call of the Lahore Bar Council.
Lawyers have boycotted the court proceedings in Customs Court and the Lahore High Court against misbehaviour of the Punjab police with a senior lawyer.
According to details, On Tuesday a police team allegedly misbehaved with a senior lawyer and member of the Pakistan Bar Council, Azam Nazeer Tarar, in LHC. Lahore Bar Council President  Pir Massod Chisti held a meeting with senior lawyers and announced a strike across the province.
On Wednesday lawyers boycotted the proceedings of Lahore High Court, Lower Courts and Special Federal Courts and demanded from the government to take a strict action against the police officials’ involved in misbehaviour with senior lawyer.
As a result, 19 different cases were delayed which were scheduled on the day for hearing including some pre arrest bails and recording to statements and witnesses.
