LAHORE: The Punjab Rangers have shot dead two alleged smugglers near Wagha border while they were making an attempt to smuggle alcohol and other items from India to Pakistan.
According to sources, the Rangers party found some movement near Wagha station and it asked the smugglers to stop but they opened fire. In retaliatory fire, the Rangers shot dead two smugglers and seized arms and drugs from them.
The smugglers were identified as Sagheer and Shahzad. Their bodies were shifted to hospital. A case has also registered against them for further investigation and legal process.
