Punjab Revenue Authority issues notices to tax evaders

LAHORE: The Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) has started a crackdown against all sales tax evaders, including beauty parlors, shopping malls and housing societies.

The PRA has issued notice to the management of Zamin Plaza and Shopping Mall directing them to clear the outstanding sales tax amount at the earliest.

The Punjab Revenue Authority took the action against housing societies which are already involved in tax evasion. The PRA team sealed various housing societies and blocked all the financial transactions of these housing societies. The sealed housing societies include Green Villas, Silk City, Palm City, Happy Valley, Model Housing Society and Nishtar Garden Housing Society.

Sources said that Prime Valley is involved in tax evasion of Rs 5.9 million, Allama Iqbal Town evaded Rs 4.9 million tax, Al-Raza Garden is involved in tax evasion of Rs 8.6 million, New Raza Garden evaded Rs 12.8 million tax, Usman Block is involved in Rs 4.9 million tax evasion, Shalimar Garden is involved in Rs 4.4 million tax evasion and Green Valley is involved in Rs 5.8 million tax evasion.

The PRA also sealed two beauty parlors due to tax evasion. These beauty parlors include All Fair Beauty Parlor and Zehra Beauty Parlor Sargodha.

The PRA has issued notices to all the said tax evaders, directing them to clear the evaded tax amount immediately.
