Punjab Revenue Authority to bring 1000 more restaurants under RIMS

LAHORE: The Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) has decided to broaden its network in Lahore and has shortlisted 1,000 restaurants to bring them into the network in coming days. At least 100 restaurants have already been added to the PRA’s network.

Sources told Customs Today that PRA has checked almost 1,000 restaurants in posh areas of the city in Lahore which are providing expensive food to citizens and are earning million of rupees but are not registered for sales tax. At least 100 restaurants of Faisalabad have also been shortlisted by the PRA to add to the Restaurant Invoice Monitoring System ( RIMS).

These restaurants will increase the revenue of the authority in coming days as it has already increased in past two years.

Restaurant invoice monitoring system will be installed in all restaurants that are providing services in posh areas of Lahore like, Defence Housing Authority, Model Town, Johar Town, Faisal Town, Cantonment area, Raiwind Road, Multan Road and Valancia Town.

Meanwhile PRA has also started crackdown against restaurants that are failed to submit their taxes despite receiving notices. PRA has sealed many restaurants as well in recent times.
