Kazakhstan PVC imports such a serious decline in PVC imports in Kazakhstan resulted from a fall in demand from local producers and almost complete cessation of further re-imports of the resin in Russia.

According to the Statistics Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan, for 11 months of the current year the index of production of plastic windows and window sills made about 23,200 tonnes, down 23% from the same time in 2014.

The volumes of re-imported resin in Russia over the reported period exceeded 12,000 tonnes, said the Ministry of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The main suppliers of PVC in the local market were producers from China, with their share more than 98% from the total PVC imports into the country. MRC, a partner of ICIS, produces polymers news and pricing reports from Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.
