ROME: Qatari armed forces signed a contract with Italian defence company Selex ES which specialises in radar and command and control systems.
The agreement was signed by HE Major General Hamad bin Ali al-Attiyah, Minister of State for Defence, and Roberta Pinotti, Italian Minister of Defence.
As per the contract, Selex ES will provide Qatari armed forces air traffic control system and defence system to monitor the airspace of Qatar.
Selex ES is an electronics and information technology business, which is part of Finmeccanica S.p.A. It is based in Italy and the UK, and was formed in January 2013.
