Quetta ASO impounds vehicle loaded with smuggled goods worth Rs15m

QUETTA: The Anti-Smuggling Organiation (ASO) seized huge quantity of Indian origin betel nuts old tyres, new welding rods, silver plates and parachute cloths worth Rs15 million.

According to details, on information shared by sources of Quetta, the Kolpur Customs Check Post foiled an attempt to smuggle foreign origin goods from a Hino truck which was coming from Quetta and recovered smuggled goods including betel nuts, smuggled old and new tyres, welding rods, silver plates, parachute cloths.

The sources told that the market value of these confiscated goods along with offending vehicle (vehicle used for carrying smuggled goods) is estimated around Rs.15 million. It added that the case has been registered against the possessor of smuggled goods and vehicles while further investigation is under process.

The staff of Customs Station Kolpur who took part in said seizure included Inspectors Ghulam Hussain Khoso, Naseer Shaheen, Isfund Yar and Asghar Khan Kakar. The Collector Preventive appreciated the Customs staff of Kolpur for making this seizure, the sources claimed.
