Quetta ASO seizes smuggled goods worth Rs 1,231.18m till May 15

QUETTA: The Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) seized smuggled goods worth Rs 1,231.18 million from July 2016 to 15 days of May 2017 of the current fiscal year.

Talking to Customs Today, Deputy Collector Junaid Mehmood said that the ASO seized smuggled goods and non-customs duty paid vehicles worth Rs 49.00 million during first 15 days of May. The deputy collector said that the collection showed that ASO is working as per expectations of the collector Quetta. Mehmood added that he was hopeful that the Customs Quetta would meet the assigned revenue collection target for the current fiscal year.

Mehmood said that during first 10 months from July to April 2016-17, the ASO Quetta seized smuggled goods worth Rs 1,182.18 million whereas the ASO seized smuggled goods worth Rs 86.721 million during the month of April.

Telling the details of seized goods during month of April he said that ASO Quetta seized 32 number of non-customs paid vehicles adding that the estimated value of seized NDP vehicles were Rs.21.46 million. The collectorate seized 532 NDP vehicles during current financial year (July to April) FY16-17 worth Rs374.116 million.

Deputy Collector Junaid said that during month of April FY2016-17 the ASO seized foreign origin fabric worth Rs5.269 million whereas ASO seized smuggled fabric worth Rs.73.862 million during 10 months (July to April) FY16-17. The ASO seized 71 bags of black ttea black/green worth Rs.1.3 million during April.

He said that ASO Quetta seized 2398 smuggled tyres and tubes worth Rs.9.444 million whereas it seized huge quantity of auto parts in of Rs3.638 million as for as the ASO Quetta seized Iranian diesel in quantity of 162680 liters worth Rs8194 million during April FY16-17.

The ASO seized mobil oil of 9675 litters  worth Rs1.440 million, 344 dandas of foreign origin fake cigarettes worth Rs.6.194 million, 262 numbers of smuggled carpets worth Rs0.335 million, seized smuggled fertilizer in quantity of 1086 kilogram in worth of Rs.1.683 million, 3243 blankets in worth of Rs.4.702 million.

Pan Prag 405 sachets under worth of Rs.0.102 million, 152026 sachets of Gutka in worth of Rs.2.547 million, various kind of toiletries in worth of Rs.0.723 million, 1357 kilogram of vegetable oil in worth of Rs0.125 million.
