Quetta Customs expedites crackdown against NDP vehicles

QUETTA: On the directives of Chief Collector Gul Rehman, Collectorate of Customs Enforcement and Compliance (E&C) launched a crackdown against non-duty-paid (NDP) vehicles.

Sources told that during operation at Lakpas, Customs team impounded three NCP vehicles including two Toyota Aqua and one Suzuki Passenger Van, and arrested two persons including Abdul Razzak and Abdul Latif. FIR is lodged against the accused.

Irfan Javed said the elements involved in the business of NCP have been warned through media campaigns and social media campaigns, and soon with the assistance of other law enforcement agencies (LEAs) the ambit of campaign would be expanded to other cities and areas.

Collector Irfan Javed said the crackdown was launched in line with the directives of federal government, FTO, and Chief Collector Gul Rehman.

Additional Collector Yasir Kalwar and Deputy Collector Akbar Jan are supervising the entire operation against NCPs while Superintendent Tariq Sultan and his team comprising Inspectors Jamil Kakar, Zahir Shah and Muhamad Hashim are in the field.
