Quetta Customs, FC conduct joint operation, recovered NDP goods worth Rs30m

QUETTA: Collectorate of Customs Preventive team in a joint operation with FC recovered huge quantity of smuggled goods which was tactfully hidden in Khesar Nullah.

Sources told that  Collector Customs Preventive Irfan Javed received credible information that huge quantity of smuggled goods had been dumped at a secret place near Noshki. These goods were to be distributed to different cities in the country. The Collector directed Additional Collectors Yasir Kalwhar and Qasim Khokhar to foil any attempt of smuggling.

Subsequently, Deputy Collector Akbar Jan constituted a team comprising Superintendent Saleem Mandokhail and Inspector Farid Rind. They along with FC North Region staff conducted a raid and recovered large quantity of smuggled goods including betel nut and tyres from Khesar Nullah.

The value of the seized goods is estimated to be Rs30 million. Customs and FC are undertaking a rigorous anti-smuggling campaign, and goods worth hundreds of million rupees have been seized in several operations.

It is necessary to mention here that after assuming the charge of Collector Customs Preventive Irfan Javed directed to adopt zero tolerance policy against smuggling. He also directed that anyone who found involved in smuggling should be dealt as per law.
