Quetta Customs, FC recover smuggled goods worth Rs28.85m i two operations

QUETTA: Collectorate of Customs Preventive with the assistance of Frontier Crops (FC) recovered high valued contraband smuggled goods worth R28.85 million during two operations conducted at Surab check post and Dalbandin area.

Sources told Customs Today that Chief Collector Enforcement Gul Rehman has directed the field formations to intensify the anti- smuggling campaign.

On November 14, 2020 credible information was received about smuggling of contraband goods.

The anti-smuggling squad of Customs Preventive enhanced patrolling on the suspected routes. The anti-smuggling squad during checking of vehicles intercepted a truck/trailer at Surab check post and recovered bitumen 20MT, Iranian diesel 40,000 liters. The market value of recovered smuggled goods is Rs12.80 million.

During another operation Customs Enforcement and Compliance team with the assistance of Frontier Corps (FC) has seized smuggled goods worth Rs16.5 million. The recovered goods include betel nuts 9.40MT non-customs paid vehicles, 140 kilograms foreign origin cloth.

It is necessary to mention here that Chief Collector Gul Rehman directed all anti-smuggling squads to adopt zero tolerance policy against smuggling and anyone who found involved in smuggling should be dealt as per law. He further directed to use all available resources against smuggling which is causing huge loss to economy of our country.
