Quetta: Under the supervision of Director Customs Intelligence and Investigation (I&I) Nadeem Memon, regional Directorate of Customs I&I seized smuggled goods worth Rs33.7 million in Intelligence Based Operation (IBO).
Sources told Customs Today that Director-General Customs Intelligence and Investigations (I&I) Faiz Ahmad Chadhar received credible information about smuggling of spare parts.
He immediately directed Director Customs I&I Nadeem Memon to use all available resources to thwart any attempt of smuggling.
Customs I&I team intercepted a Hino truck loaded with mix auto spare parts near the Quetta bypass.
Upon detailed examination, it was found that the goods and the vehicle were non-duty paid, and their total value was estimated at Rs 33.7 million.
The smuggled goods and the truck were impounded under the Customs Act 1969, and further legal action was initiated against the offenders.
The Customs Quetta officials lauded the efforts of Director General I&I and Director I&I Quetta for their guidance and support in curbing the menace of smuggling.
