QUETTA: Collectorate of Customs has seized 450 kilograms of high quality charas, which is valued at Rs 110 million in the international market.
Sources told Customs Today that information was passed through Chief Collector Karachi Yaqoob Mako to Collector Khuzdar Imran Sajjad Bukhari regarding movement of narcotics to Karachi.
Subsequently, Deputy Director Rana Umair formed a team comprising Superintendent Nisar Shaikh and Inspector Raza Shaikh to keep strict vigilance. A truck was spotted late night at Khurkhera check post. Checking led to recovery of narcotics hidden in the secret cavities of the vehicle.
It may be mentioned here Collectorate is recently established, and Collector Imran Sajjad Bukhari just after taking the charge activated the team.
A case is registered and investigation is under way till the filing of this report.
