Quetta Customs foils bid to smuggle narcotics worth Rs109m to Karachi

QUETTA: Collectorate of Customs has foiled an attempt to smuggle 178 kilograms of narcotics from Quetta to Karachi in a Nissan car. International market value of narcotics substance along with vehicle comes to Rs109 million.

Sources told Customs Today Information received by Collector Enforcement Samiul Haq about smuggling of narcotics. He immediately directed Additional Collector Aftabullah Shah to take all necessary measures to thwart any attempt of smuggling.

Anti-Smuggling squad was constituted by Incharge Lakpass Shabbir Khan including Essa Khan, Inspector,  Ishaq George, Inspector. The staff enhanced vigilance on Quetta Karachi RCD Highway and afterwards a Nissan car was intercepted.

The driver fled away to nearby village taking advantage of darkness, furthermore on thorough search of said vehicle recovered large quantity of narcotics material concealed in special designed cavities made in doors, back trunk and seats.

FIR has been lodged and further proceedings are still underway.
