QUETTA: Collectorate of Customs Enforcement has thwarted an attempt to smuggle huge quantity of narcotics including hashish and opium worth Rs15 million.
Sources said that information was passed through Collector Khalid Hussain Jamali to Additional Collector Moen Afzal regarding movement of contraband goods. Assistant Collector Shafiullah constituted a team under the supervision of Inspector Shahzad Akhtar to foil the attempt.
Subsequently, a Mazda truck was intercepted. Examination of the vehicle led to recovery of 100KG high quality charas and 5kg marijuana and 5kg opium.
The goods were being smuggled to the in country. Investigations are still underway till the filing of this report.
