Quetta Customs I&I foils bid to smuggle perfumes, watches worth Rs6.88m

QUETTA: The Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation has foiled a bid to smuggle non-duty paid international brand perfumes, imported watches and other goods worth Rs 6.88 million during special checking on Saturday.

Sources told Customs Today that Customs Intelligence and Investigation Director Muhammad Akram Chaudhary received a tip-off that some smugglers are trying to smuggle non-custom paid items including international perfumes, imported watches and other things from Quetta to Karachi

He constituted a raiding team under the supervision of Inspector Asad Murtaza and others. The team enhanced the surveillance in Ziarat Highway and started searching of vehicles.

During the search operation, the team intercepted a passenger bus bearing registration no: QSS-7301 which was going from Quetta to Karachi.

During the checking, the customs team recovered 3000 piece of branded perfumes, 500 branded watches, 500 digital sugar test equipment, and other items worth Rs 6.88 million.
