QUETTA: Collectorate of Customs Enforcement and Compliance (E&C) has seized 4.33 million liters of smuggled fuel worth Rs305.58 million during the year 2020-21 compared to previous year 2019-20 where 1.021 million liters of fuel worth Rs77.47 million were recovered, an increase of over 300 percent.
Sources said that Chief Collector Balochistan Gul Rehman directed to intensify anti-smuggling drive, Collector Irfan Javed and Deputy Collector Akbar Jan started a crackdown on smuggled goods.
An official said that Prime Minister Imran Khan has put special emphasis on anti-smuggling efforts to ensure inflows of legitimate revenues.
