Quetta Customs impounds smuggled goods worth Rs3m during two operations

QUETTA: Collectorate of Customs recovered huge quantity of smuggled goods worth Rs30 million during two separate operations.

Sources told that Customs staff deputed at Darakshan Check Post signaled a truck to stop but the driver fled away. However, the Customs staff caught the truck and recovered 10 tons of betel nut concealed under fresh apples.

In another operations, Customs Quetta recovered large quantity of miscellaneous goods including auto parts, cloth, bicycles and crockery etc from a Hino truck at Lakpas Checkpost.

Collector Iftikhar Ahmed had passed directives to Additional Collector Jameel Baloch and Assistant Collector Saleem Tahir to keep vigil on the movement of smuggled goods.

Superintendent Yunus Ata, Superintendent Aslam Khan, Inspectors Yusuf Notezai and Shahzad Akhtar efficiently made these seizure of goods worth Rs30 million.
