QUETTA: The Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation confiscated non duty paid perfumes, digital cameras and laptop hard drive and different imported hard wire worth Rs6.50 million on Saturday afternoon.
Sources told Customs Today that Director Customs Intelligence and Investigation Irfan Javed received a tip-off that some smugglers are trying to smuggle huge quantity of non duty paid electronics items, duty perfumes, digital cameras and laptop hard drive and different imported hard wire from Quetta to different cities.
He immediately constituted a raiding team. The team in-charge, Sameer Malik and Asif Ghaffor and others enhanced surveillance on the Dilbadin check post and started searching of vehicles.
During the search operation, the team intercepted a bus bearing registration no: KLG-802 which was going out of the Quetta city.
During the checking, the customs team recovered 200 fancy electric boards, 200 pieces of non duty paid perfumes, 80 above digital cameras, and 200 laptop system hard drive worth Rs6.50 million.
The customs team seized the all items and arrested two passengers who were claiming of smuggling items, name Irfan and Raheem Jan. The Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Quetta registered an FIR against the arrested passengers and start more investigation.Source said the smugglers belong to Raqib Shah group.
