Quetta Customs Intelligence seizes Iranian diesel, petrol worth Rs 5.4m

KARACHI: The Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Quetta has confiscated Iranian diesel worth Rs 4.2 million and petrol worth Rs 1.2 million, besides impounding two containers worth over Rs 10 million during an action.

The Customs Intelligence and Frontier Core Kalat, in a joint operation following credible information, intercepted two oil tankers on RCD Highway and recovered 60,000 liters of Iranian diesel and 2,400 liters of petrol. The officials asked the drivers to show documents regarding legal import of the items but they remained failed.

Therefore, the officials seized the items under customs laws and also arrested three accused person.

It may mention here that it is the first grand joint operation of new calendar year, as earlier such kind of operations were conducted in August and November of last year.
