Quetta Customs Intelligence seizes electronics items, narcotics and cell phones

KARACHI: Quetta Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation has seized a huge quantity of electronics items, narcotics and smuggled phones during two successful raids.

According to sources, Directorate of Customs Intelligence received information that a huge quantity of electronics items will be smuggled out of the city. Consequently, he formed a team under the supervision of a deputy director. The team established a check post at the exit point of the city and started checking of vehicles. While the checking the vehicles, the officials intercepted two trucks which were heading towards another city. The trucks were filled with flour bags and the drivers provided the legal documents of the loaded flour. While searching of the trucks, the team recovered a huge quantity of electronic items which were hidden beneath the flour bags.

As per the details, from the seized electronics including, 50 LEDs, 50 LEDTVs, 100 monitors of 27 inches, 50 air conditions, more than 2,000 potable hardware, 60 owens and 50 HP LaserJet printers. The team seized the items and arrested four  persons included two truck drivers. The officials said that value of the seized items is more than Rs 40 million.

In another action, the customs intelligence intercepted a Suzuki High Roof during the routine checking at Panjghoor. During the search of vehicles officials recovered 200kg charas and more than 100 cell phones. The customs officials seized the items and arrested two persons who were involved in smuggling. Officials further told that 14 person of this gang have already arrested during different actions.
