QUETTA: The Customs authorities in a joint operation with Pakistan Air Force Samungli base staff have foiled a smuggling bid and seized 2.4 tons of betel nuts.
After receiving information, Quetta Collector Ashraf Ali ordered a join operation in which Customs Mobile Squad with assistance of PAF Samungli base staff seized the betel nuts from an Hiace van.
During shifting of goods to Quetta Custom House, smugglers attacked the Customs staff and tried to snatch the seized the nuts. However, after exchange of fire, Customs staff managed to take the seized nuts to the Custom House safely.
