KARACHI: Directorate General of Customs Intelligence and Investigations Quetta has recovered 12 non-duty-paid luxury vehicles and a huge quantity of smuggled cigarettes and tyres during a crackdown.
Sources informed Customs Today that Director Customs Intelligence Iqbal Bohwana received credible information about some smuggling attempts. He constituted different teams who conducted various operations in different parts of Chaman and recovered a huge quantity of smuggled tyres amounting to Rs 8 million and non-customs paid cigarettes worth Rs 1.2 million.
Customs Intelligence team also recovered 12 non-duty paid vehicles during a crackdown. Director Iqbal Bhawana said that Customs Quetta authorities are conducting successful operations against smuggling but due to shortage of resources the department is adopting new strategies to curb smuggling.
