Quetta Customs recovers prohibited medicines from five passenger buses on Monday

QUETTA: The Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation confiscated international smuggled medicine from five passenger buses worth Rs 1.72 million on Monday.

Sources told Customs Today that Director Customs Intelligence and Investigation Irfan Javed received a tip-off that some smugglers are trying to smuggle confiscated international smuggled medicine from Quetta to different cities.

He immediately constituted a raiding team. The team in-charge, Asif Ghaffor and others enhanced surveillance on Balili Check Post and started searching of vehicles.

During the search operation, the team intercepted 5 different passenger buses registration number GH-2376, QL-8662 and others which was going out of the Quetta city.

During the checking, he customs team recovered confiscated international smuggled medicine worth Rs1.72 million. The customs team seized the all items and arrested some smugglers (name not displayed) . The Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Quetta registered an FIR against the smuggler and start investigations.
