KARACHI: Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigations, during different crackdowns, recovered 18,000 liters of smuggled Iranian diesel, android mobile phones and watches.
Sources told Customs Today that director Customs Intelligence received information that an attempt will be made to smuggle Iranian diesel. After receiving the information, he formed a team under the supervision of Deputy Director Customs Intelligence Inamullah Khan Wazir.
The customs team intercepted an oil tanker near Regi Road which was loaded with 18,000 liters of smuggled Iranian diesel. The driver of the vehicle failed to produce any legal documents. The Customs team seized the diesel and arrested the driver.
While during another crackdown, the customs team recovered 50 android mobiles phones and 100 high value watches from a vehicle. Customs team arrested the driver who failed to satisfy the customs team about possession of the suspicious items. The Customs team has forwarded the cases to the customs adjudication.
