QUETTA: Collectorate of Customs team deputed at Quetta International Airport recovered two valuable eagles from a passenger Lal Shah who arrived from Dubai to Quetta and handed them over to the Wildlife Department.
As per details, Collectorate of Customs Chief Collector Gul Rehman directed to all relevant field staff to adopt zero tolerance policy against smuggling. He directed customs staff to stop all kinds of smuggling. During checking of passengers arrived from Dubai to Quetta, Assistant Collector Malik Ahmed, Superintendent Tariq Sultan and Inspector Tufail Mohammad recovered two valuable eagles from passenger Lal Shah.
The value of which would be two and a half crores equal to Rs25 million, the birds were later handed over to the Wildlife Department. Further legal proceedings are under way.
It is necessary to mention here that Collectorate of Customs adopted a comprehensive strategy against smuggling in the jurisdiction and due to this policy there is marginable decrease is being witnessed in smuggling attempts.
