KARACHI: Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigations has seized a huge quantity of smuggled air conditioners and other electronics items during different crackdowns.
Sources told Customs Today director Customs Intelligence received information that smugglers are planning to smuggle a huge quantity of electronics goods through land routes. After receiving the information, Deputy Director Customs Intelligence Inamullah formed a team which started checking of vehicles on roads.
During the checking process, the customs team recovered 18 smuggled air conditioners from a bus and arrested a person who is owner of these air conditioners. While the same team during another crackdown recovered 12 LEDs, 25 DVDs, 25 LEDs, and TVs monitors from a vehicle . The Customs teams also arrested two persons on the spot. Customs authorities registered separate cases against the suspects.
