QUETTA: The Customs authorities have seized a large number of smuggled mobile phones and batteries worth Rs1.43 million concealed in a trailer.
Quetta Collector Ashraf Ali, on a tipoff that mobile phones were being smuggled, directed Deputy Collector Maqbool Ahmed to take action. Maqbool along with Superintendents Saeed Ahmed Baloch, G.S Mangrio and Inspector Qurban Hussain intercepted the said vehicle No. TLE-271, registered with bonded carrier M/s E-Movers.
An FIR was lodged against the driver and owner of the vehicle while the driver was also arrested.
