Quetta customs starts crackdown against NDP vehicles

QUETTA: Collectorate of Customs started crackdown against non-customs-paid vehicles plying in the province.

According to the details, Chief Collector Dr. Zulfiqar Ali Chaudhry strictly directed Customs Preventive to take stern action against owners of the non-duty paid vehicles.

Collector Preventive Iftikhar Ahmed immediately directed anti-smuggling squads to enhance checking. Assistant Collectors Akmal Durrani and Eesha Rahim were directed to root out the menace. Through snap checking at various parts of the city and surroundings by anti-smugglings quads, around 30 vehicles were thoroughly checked and there documents were found correct.

Customs authorities appreciated the owners of these vehicles for their cooperation. Pursuant to continuous crack down and snap checking, the smuggled vehicles are found almost nil plying on the roads.

Customs authorities warned smuggled vehicles mafia that if any such vehicle plying on the roads or parked at show rooms was found, FIR would be lodged against the owner of the vehicle.

Custom authorities have also planned to raid illegal show rooms where non-duty-paid vehicles are parked.
