Quetta I&I foils bid to smuggle luxury vehicles parts worth Rs6m

QUETTA: The Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Quetta frustrated a smuggling bid of luxury vehicle chassis and radiators priced at Rs 6 million.

Sources told Customs Today that Director Customs Intelligence and Investigation Muhammad Akram Chaudhary received secret information that some smugglers are trying to smuggle luxury vehicles accessories from Quetta to Karachi.

He constituted a raiding team under supervision of Superintendent Muzaffar Ali and others. The team enhanced the surveillance at Kuchlak road and started search of vehicles.

The team intercepted a commercial truck bearing registration no: QBS-7762 which was going from Quetta to Karachi. During the checking, the customs team recovered 3 chesses of luxury cars and 80 radiators sets valued at Rs6 million.

The customs team impounded all smuggled items and truck which was being used in the smuggling and arrested three suspected smugglers. Sources told that an FIR will be lodged after 48 hours.
