Quetta I&I foils bid to smuggle NDP cosmatics worth Rs4.50m on Friday

QUETTA: The Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation has foiled a bid to smuggle non duty paid cosmetic items include branded face powder, lipsticks, dryer machines, branded shampoos and soap  worth Rs 4.50 million during special checking.

Sources told Customs Today on Friday morning, that Director Customs Intelligence and Investigation Muhammad Akram Chaudhary received a tip-off that some smugglers are trying to smuggle non custom paid cosmetic items include branded face powder, lipsticks, dryer machines, branded shampoos and soap other things from out of Quetta.

He constituted a raiding team under the supervision of Inspector Touheed Jamal and others. The team enhanced the surveillance in Kuchlak Road and started searching of vehicles.

During the search operation, the team intercepted a passenger van bearing registration no: MSH-548 which was going outside of Quetta.

During the checking, the customs team  recovered include 10000 piece of branded face powder, 5000 sets of lipsticks, 200 dryer machines, 10,000 of  branded shampoos and 5 thousand different kinds of soap  and other items worth Rs4.50 million.
