Quetta Preventive impounds luxury vehicles parked at showrooms

QUETTA: Under directions of Member Customs Operations Dr. Jawwad Awais Agha, the Collector Preventive seized huge quantity of luxury vehicles parked at showrooms at Saryab Road worth Rs150 million.

In pursuance of information received from the Member Customs-Operations that non-duty paid luxury vehicles are parked at a showroom on Saryab Road, the Chief Collector Customs directed Collector Preventive to conduct an operation to recover these vehicles.

A special raiding party was accordingly constituted. The raiding party conducted operation at around 2am on 22.09.2019 with the active support and coordination of FC Balochistan and Police. During the raid, 10 luxury non-duty-paid vehicles were recovered. The vehicles were safely escorted to Customs House, Quetta despite stiff resistance from a mob who blocked the road.

These vehicles include BMW 7 series, Jaguar, Lexus, V8, Range Rover etc. The estimated value of the vehicles is around Rs 150 million. It is pertinent to mention that it is the biggest haul of NDPs in an operation.
