Quetta Preventive seizes huge quantity of narcotics near Baleli check-post

QUETTA: Collectorate of Customs Preventive team has successfully an attempt to smuggle huge quantity of narcotics near Baleli check post.

According to the sources, Collector Preventive Iftikhar Ahmad received credible information about smuggling of narcotics in a light passenger vehicle via Chaman-Quetta routes.

He directed Additional Collector Jameel Baloch and Deputy Collector Asim Rehman to enhance checking on all exit and entry points of the city.

The customs team intercepted a Mitsubishi Pajero near Baleli Check Post. During search the customs team recovered 110 packets of baked charas (hashish) of 1000-grams each, opium 1900 grams packed in two cloth sacks and Morphine 4590 grams packed in five cloth sacks were recovered, which were concealed in specially designed cavities in the body of the said vehicles.

There was also small quantity of fresh apricot cartons loaded therein as a camouflage, while staff was busy in checking of said vehicle the driver escaped from the scene taking the advantage of darkness.

The staff of Baleli Customs took the possession of the said narcotics and vehicle.  FIR is being lodged against the unknown persons and further investigation in the matter is under way.
