It was observed during the visit of proposed location that operation of loading and unloading containers and berthing the train on the down main loop line could not be performed by placing the cranes and trailers on the passenger platform.

There is not enough space to accommodate two tracks and one platform due to the under construction structure in the middle of open railway land adjacent to the railway station building.

In view of these technical issues, a joint team of railway and customs officials visited Mukhtiarwala and Piran Gaib railway stations to check the possibilities for establishment of dry port on trial basis.

On the location near Mukhtiarwala closed Railway Station the space was found suitable but needed a detailed survey and technical examination.

During the visit divisional officer and divisional transportation were also accompanied to examine the technical aspects of the project .They entrusted the task to prepare the plan and examine all the possibilities for the establishment of dry port very soon and further action will be taken in the light of report received.
