ISLAMABAD: Despite toll claims by Federal Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique, the Pakistan Railways has increased the fares of coaches from Karachi to other parts of the country by at least 16.5%.
The customers have denounced the government’s act, terming it unfair. Following the hike, fare of Karachi to Lahore business class has increased by at least Rs 500 to Rs 700 while the customers would have to pay Rs 700 to Rs 900 more to travel from Karachi to Rawalpindi. The Railways authorities have said that the relief given to the people earlier, after petroleum products’ prices were lowered in international markets, has been withdrawn.
